Coronavirus Update – 9/11 Museum & MoMA

9/11 Museum– While it is the 9/11 Memorial & Museum’s sacred mission to honor the 2,983 victims of those killed in the terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001 and February 26, 1993, the health and well-being of our thousands of daily visitors and dedicated staff are of the utmost importance. In response to the guidance provided by our state and local governments regarding large public gatherings and in an effort to limit opportunities for the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic, we will join our fellow cultural institutions throughout New York City in closing the Memorial and Museum, effective Friday, March 13, for a temporary period of time. As part of the fabric of the city, we recognize our responsibility to operate in the best interest of the millions who live, work and visit here.

We remain in contact with our health and government partners to learn more about this evolving situation so we can once again provide safe and meaningful access to this site.

For current ticket holders or reservation questions, please contact reservations@911memorial.org.

MoMA Museum– Nothing is more important to us than the health and safety of our community. We take seriously our responsibility as a civic institution that serves the public good. With that in mind, as it is more and more challenging to predict the impact of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak, we have decided to temporarily close The Museum of Modern Art, MoMA PS1, and the MoMA Design Stores on 53rd Street and in Soho.

We made this decision in ongoing consultation with public health experts, city and state officials, our peer institutions, and our respective boards. We will close, effective immediately, through March 30, 2020. We will reevaluate the situation at that time.

There have been no confirmed cases of COVID-19 among our employees. We will continue to post updates about our open status and community health and safety plans.

You can follow and connect with us online and on social media. If you have a question about refunding or exchanging tickets you purchased in advance, please email tickets@moma.org.

Thank you for your understanding and for being a part of the MoMA community.
